Hamilton  Elementary  School  strives to surpass the  expectations of a typical urban elementary  school  by  integrating  community  involvement  with its academic  program.  Parent participation is an integral part of the curriculum.

The campus becomes a respected community symbol for hope and opportunity.  School facilities are double-used by the school and by community organizations.  The new two story classroom structure serves both as an important community icon and as a physical link between the strayed existing buildings.

The campus entry is redefined, removed from the windowless 1970's structure, and relocated to the geometric crossroad of the campus.   A new outdoor lunch court structure becomes an amphitheater for both school and community functions.  Existing buildings were remodeled to include accessibility compliance and fire alarm, data and security system upgrades.
