socal edison valley substation annex
The Southern California Edison Valley Substation Maintenance Building is a single story, prefabricated metal building. The project consisted of approximately 14,733 square feet of floor area and 9,827 square feet of exterior canopies for fleet vehicles. The following were included in our services: 1) Validation of the previous program and identification of any additional program, 2) Translation of the program into a Schematic Building Design, 3) Budget validation and affirmation that the project build out can be realized by 2011. The project scope anticipated relocating TDBU Maintenance & Testing from their twenty year old storage / office building and trailer into permanent facilities. A Relay Test Office and dedicated Relay Testing Lab were identified in the program and required capacity for four crews (8 FTE's) and one manager. The program for the Maintenance Group provides for office & support space to house thirteen workstations, a dedicated Map & File Room, Tool Storage Room, Maintenance Workshop and Warehouse space large enough to consolidate seven existing shipping containers located on-site. Four permanent stations were programmed for TDBU Operations Group and four dedicated work stations and support space were identified for the Construction Group. The project has achieved LEED Silver Certification through the USGBC.
