he San Diego Gas & Electric Beach Cities project is a master planning effort designed to both mitigate the existing shortfall of facility space, and project the site needs through the year 2020.

 

The 9.9-acre site currently houses over 200 employees whose primary responsibility is construction and maintenance of the utility's gas and electric distribution system. The 4.4 million dollar project is to be completed in two phases. The first phase of the project consolidated and expanded the capacity of the existing storage yard, and was completed in 2005.
